Renovation Challenge Week 2: Inspiration

Posted October 9, 2019

You’ve met the 11 amazing designers taking on the six-week Renovation Challenge, seen all the before photos of the spaces, and now it’s time to check out what they have in store for their makeovers.

This week we’re talking inspiration. As if taking on a renovation in only a few weeks isn’t inspiration enough, we’re sharing mood boards, tile selections, floor plans and more.

Let’s kick things off with Emily Buys as she shares her tips on how to design a master bath, and what questions to ask yourself before getting started.

In the market for a modern bathroom design? Chelsea Johnson gives you all you need to know about changing a bathroom layout, and as a bonus, she even gives you renderings to take along to Home Depot for some added guidance.

Kelsey and Ryan share their mood board with blues, wood-like tile selections, and dark accents, so we can’t wait to see what they’ve got up their sleeve.

Carmen Smith helps shed some light on the importance of doing things the right way, as she discovered three layers of flooring in her laundry room. Yep, three. Don’t miss what she’s got planned to maximize her tiny space, this week.

Bethany Crisp is sharing her bathroom inspiration, as she takes over our Instagram along with Carmen and Tammy Tillery, who is taking her builder grade bathroom to custom chic.

Nicole is making some serious progress in her new mudroom, taking her mood board from inspiration to reality. While Monica Chavez does a gut renovation on her hall bath, she gives a sneak peek at her plans to add a little spice into this once dark and drab space.

Lyndsey gets real this week as she faced some unexpected challenges and how her inspiration board is keeping her motivated. Jill is creating a spa retreat in her master bath to keep her going with a new tile selection to help create a relaxing oasis.

Walls have been knocked out and there’s no going back with Jessie’s bathroom renovation as she made some game-time decisions to help expand her space.

See what she’s done, along with all of our DIY challengers this week on your home for the Renovation Challenge

Don’t forget to tune in to our Instagram stories as each designer takes over.

This will be fun to watch as redoing a bathroom is important. I will take the ideas and probably use one in my master bathroom. Thanks for sponsoring this challenge.
