A kitchen refresh with Jeffrey Court

Hey guys! We’re glad to be back sharing a new home renovation with you. Not only do we love taking on our very own home projects in our little fixer upper home, but we love inspiring others, and helping them make their house a home, as well. Sometimes, those are sweet friends and amazing clients, who give us the amazing opportunity to help their homes reflect who they are.

When Mark and Jillina moved into their new house, it was everything they’d ever wanted: a great school, amazing layout, and a wonderful yard. The greatest tragedy to Jillina however, was the builder’s beige kitchen. While it was perfectly fine, it lacked in what a lot of what Jillina was looking for. Mark and Jillina were also looking for small changes with big impact, and since Jillina always wanted a white kitchen, we were more than happy to step up to the plate.

One of the first things to go? The builder’s beige. It was only bringing out more brown in the rest of the space, and they knew it needed to be toned down with a nice, soft gray. Next up: a fresh coat for the tired old cabinets. And it gave Jillina exactly what she wanted, without an entire renovation. Then it was new hardware, and down with the bulky lights.

But a huge change was finally getting rid of that dated backsplash for something new.

Mark and Jillina loved the simple subway tile with clean lines from Jeffrey Court, It was an easy weekend project, and it’s amazing what an incredible difference fresh tile can make.

We think to call it a game changer, would be an under statement.

Mark was new to the entire backsplash project, as he’d never really taken on tiling before. So while Jillina and I took care of some other projects around the house, as well as some of the kitchen install, the guys tackled the tile themselves.

They were amazed that it only took a few hours to transform their backsplash from ho-hum, to sparkling and new.

This room suddenly became a fresh new gathering space for the entire family, and it definitely reflects their fun personality. We love how cohesive the room feels now, as a beautiful hub of the house. They’ve recently told us how many compliments they get on the wow factor of their kitchen, every time friends and family visit. Winning.

It’s so much fun to see what simple changes can do to make a huge impact, especially with gorgeous tile from Jeffrey Court. There’s a lot to be said about classic lines and the way they bring beauty to a kitchen.
