A Shared Hallway Bathroom Makeover

Hey guys! We’re Jamin and Ashley Mills with The Handmade Home. We’re so excited to be guests today, and show you this sweet hallway bath! While we love taking on projects in our own home, we also very much love helping others in their houses, and bringing those tired old spaces back to life. It’s basically our life mission to help people love where they dwell. And today, we’re thrilled to show you this bathroom!

If you’ve checked in on our site before, then you know that this was a project that was near and dear to our hearts. This sweet family was in need of a fresh start up and what better way to do that than with an amazing overhaul? Also, can we just ask, what’s better than sharing a bathroom with your sibling? {Yes, I think most of us have been there. No, that’s only a semi-sarcastic question – see images of me locking my siblings out when we were little.} The answer: Having an amazing bathroom filled to the brim with an entire new look and great function, of course!

In other words, down with the pink tile. As hard as it was to say goodbye, 1950 called and wanted their bathroom back. It was time to go.

Their smaller bathroom was a challenge, but definitely not something we couldn’t handle. Levi and Ivey are two lovely {elementary school aged} kiddos who share this space. And we wanted to give them something both beautiful and practical to bring that bathroom back to life!

So we reconfigured the space by knocking back a hallway closet, and giving the tiny bath a little more much-needed square footage. Then we flipped the original toilet situation, so that they could have a spacious vanity with more storage. Goodbye awkward pink shower. Hello, beautiful tile {Allegro Dawn} a-la Jeffrey Court.

The new design is so clean and refreshing, we’re in love with the new feel of the space!

What we love the most about this tile is the beveled edges. It’s like a subtle, fresh take on the traditional fave, for a little more handsome sparkle. We love the balance that it struck in the bathroom for both a boy and girl, and the fact that the space feels so appropriate for both children. We’re still astounded by how much Jeffrey Court’s tile did for their bathroom, and the final look. It definitely was a real change for the better, and visually opened up everything!

Fun colors and casual accents brought a great backdrop to life, and we love the way that their space will stand as a classic testament to time in the coming years. Definitely a bathroom worthy of sharing with a sibling… and growing up in. If we do say so ourselves.

If you have more questions or would like to check out the space in more detail, be sure to check out our original post here. If you’d like to stop by, we’d love to hear from you about any questions you may have.

Have an inspired day!
