A Look Back with Tastemaker KariAnne Wood

Posted January 9, 2019

Isn’t it amazing when you look back at a year and see all the amazing things that have gone before?

2018 is no exception.

It was a year full of exciting opportunities and tile projects, and collaborations, and chapters with more still waiting to be written.

I am so honored and excited and full of joy to have the opportunity to partner with a brand like Jeffrey Court.  If you’ve ever walked into The Home Depot and strolled down the tile aisle, you understand exactly what I’m talking about.

The textures.

The patterns.

The colors.

The quality.

Jeffrey Court leads the industry in innovation and cutting-edge design.  I know, I’ve seen the designs upclose and worked with the individuals behind the Jeffrey Court name and I can tell you personally that they are all about producing high quality tile with innovative designs at affordable prices.

Are you ready?

Are you set?

Want to see what Jeffrey Court and I were up to in 2018?  And what is on the horizon for 2019?

2018 was the year of the look book.

This 32-page look book was the result of months of collaboration and a week-long photo shoot.  It’s full of photos and inspiration for every design style.  There are creative ideas and tile DIY’s and everything you need to inspire you for your next tile project.

You can access a digital copy of the look book here.

2018 was the year of inspiration

One of my goals as a Jeffrey Court ambassador was to create color palettes with different design styles.  Here’s an example of one of the inspiration boards from the look book.  Different sizes and shapes of tile combined with bright colors and floral patterns to create the boho pallet.

We put together more than half a dozen inspiration boards and photographed them to represent the ways Jeffrey Court tile can be used for any design style.

2018 was the year of the bathroom projects.

I worked on several bathroom projects in collaboration with Jeffrey Court.

One of the projects was this small boho-style bathroom.  We completely removed the outdated 1950’s tile and replaced it with a classic subway, marble countertops and penny tile for the floor.  Brass fixtures were added, and the bathroom was styled with bright colors and patterns and textures to introduce the boho feel to the space.

2018 was the year of the conferences.

We introduced the look book at the Haven Design Conference to a standing-room only crowd.  This photo was taken at the exact moment the book was released.

To say I was excited is an understatement.

It was so much fun to get to meet other bloggers and share the Jeffrey Court story.

2018 was all about the small projects

One of my favorite things about working with tile is creating smaller projects in a weekend.  This fireplace is a great example of that.  This was a vintage fireplace surround from an upstairs bedroom in the house.  We removed it and made it over with these small marble tiles.

And the best part?

It was a no-cut tile project.

2018 was an exciting year.

But the best part?

2019 is going to be even better.

We have more projects planned and more inspiration and some incredible collaborations that I can’t wait to share.

Here’s to a new year filled with possibilities….

….and all the blank spaces just waiting to be tiled.
